Kind of a mind-blower to realize that this event happened when dinosaurs walked the Earth, but its light and sound is only now reaching us.

That animation of the two black holes colliding and how it alters the space around it was really cool. Astrophysics is such a cool field of study.

I can’t possibly fathom truly understanding how all the works, but it sure is neat to have it explained. The thing is, I would bet that if you could have been in a spaceship watching that happen, you’d see nothing at all because it would be happening at an inexorably slow pace, until the instant it went BANG.

Somewhat like the premise to the classic low budget sci fli movie “The Day Time Ended”.
